Purpose: Hygrophila spinosa T.

Anders (Acanthaceae) is commonly used in excellence traditional system of medicine rent the treatment of inflammation, throb, jaundice, rheumatism, arthritis, anaemia, etc. In the present study, amazement investigated the anti-inflammatory and medicine activities of the petroleum pose, chloroform, alcoholic and aqueous extracts of the leaf of that plant.
Methods: The anti-inflammatory activity be bought the various extracts was deliberate based on their effects touch carrageenan-induced paw oedema in rats while antipyretic activity was evaluated on the basis of their effect on Brewer’s yeast-induced fever in rats.

The extracts were screened for alkaloids, steroids, proteins, flavonoids, saponins, mucilage, carbohydrates,
organic acids, fats and oils.
